About Alba Fernández Carrasco
MAEC-approved sworn translator-interpreter for Spain — officially appointed by Spain’s Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores, with more than 15 years of experience and an embassy background in official document processing.
I’m Alba Fernández Carrasco, a sworn translator-interpreter for Spain helping clients prepare official documents for use in Spain. For more than 15 years, I have worked with expats, immigrants, students, tourists, and families navigating visas, nationality processes, legal paperwork, academic recognition, pareja de hecho, and other official administrative steps.
Before building Sworn Translation Spain, I worked for several embassies and consulates. That experience gave me an insider’s perspective on visa processing, official document review, and the kinds of details that matter when an application is being prepared for submission. I do not just understand the language of the documents. I understand the wider administrative process they move through.
I am officially appointed by Spain’s Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores and MAEC-approved. My Foreign Office Translator’s Commission Number is MAEC Commission No. 8981Verify in official MAEC registry ↗. All my sworn translations are fully official throughout Spain and for Spanish Consulates worldwide. When you work with Sworn Translation Spain, you work directly with me — and I personally handle every translation.
Official Experience You Can Trust
This is official work, and experience matters.
My background includes years of service connected to embassies and consulates, which gave me a practical understanding of visas, visa processing, supporting documents, administrative requirements, and the small issues that can create delays when paperwork is not prepared carefully. That insider’s perspective is one of the reasons many clients come to me when a translation is tied to an important immigration, relocation, or consular step.
I am a sworn translator-interpreter officially appointed by Spain’s Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores, and my work is prepared for official use in Spain. My translations are used for visas, nationality applications, academic procedures, civil registrations, legal matters, and other official processes where accuracy and formal validity matter.
My sworn translations are official everywhere in Spain and for Spanish Consulates worldwide. You receive a digitally signed and stamped PDF that is accepted by Spanish administrations, consulates, and agencies — and treated as equivalent to an original for official submission purposes.
Your documents are handled privately, securely, and only by me
I know that many of the documents clients send me are deeply personal. When you submit your files, they go directly from my form to a secure private folder that is not shared with anyone else. I do not outsource your work, I do not circulate your documents to outside translators, and I do not pass them through layers of staff.
Your documents stay with me and are used only for the translation work you have asked me to complete. That is one of the clearest differences between working with an independent sworn translator and using a large agency.
Why I Do This Work
Spanish paperwork can feel overwhelming. Visa applications, nationality procedures, civil records, degree recognition, and pareja de hecho registrations often involve important deadlines and documents that need to be translated correctly the first time.
Because I have seen these processes from the inside as well as from the client side, I know how stressful and high-stakes they can feel. My goal is not only to translate your documents accurately, but also to make this part of the process feel clearer, calmer, and easier to trust.
What I Help With
I regularly help clients with official sworn translations for Spain including:
- Visa and immigration documents
- Spanish nationality and civil-status documents
- Pareja de hecho documents
- Academic records, homologación, and equivalencia documents
- Background checks, police certificates, and apostilles
- Legal, personal, and supporting official documents for use in Spain
For many clients, this includes documents such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, FBI background checks, ACRO certificates, medical certificates, diplomas, transcripts, affidavits, and other supporting records.
How I Work
I keep the process simple. In most cases, all I need are scanned copies or digital files. There is usually no need to mail physical originals.
Your translation is handled personally by me and delivered as a digitally signed and stamped PDF for official use in Spain. Pricing is fixed per page. Turnaround is fast. You pay after delivery.

Partner support
The same personal handling, adapted to professional workflows
If you are a law firm or relocation agency, you can also work directly with Alba as a trusted partner for client matters involving official documents for Spain. It is the same clear process, direct communication, and calm support, adapted to recurring professional submissions.
A Personal Service, Not a Faceless Agency
You are not passed between departments. You are not left wondering who is working on your documents. You work directly with the sworn translator herself.
That matters because these translations often sit behind major life decisions: moving to Spain, applying for a visa, registering a pareja de hecho, validating a degree, getting married, or pursuing citizenship. This work is official, but the experience should still feel human, responsive, and easy to navigate.
Clear Support for Important Steps
Some clients arrive knowing exactly what they need translated. Others are still trying to understand which documents belong in their application. In both cases, I aim to make the next step simple, clear, and low-stress.
